Last week, Lewistown started to get some rain, which was the first serious rain that we'd seen in some time. I took the initiative, and sped home immediately after work, grabbed my camera, and went out and drove around. There WERE some great photos, in there, but half of them didn't turn out. I am seriously considering getting a good quality digital camera.
In the meantime, a few pictures did turn out. This is the corner of First and Main; I'm taking the picture from inside my car. I'm right by a gas station as well, which is why you see quite a bit more white light on the ground than what you'd expect. I have always been fascinated by the way the ground and road looks after a rainstorm, especially in the city, with all of the lights reflecting.
I knew without reading the caption that this was taken from a gas station and I am not sure how/why I knew that... Great job capturing all the different kinds of lights and reflections on the wet ground. It is a very nice photo.
This photo for me evoked a very specific set of feelings -- an angsty mix of anger, disappointment, shame -- and I could feel the way the air felt after the rain had paused, and smell the cigarette smoke and thick gas smell from the gas station and wished I could walk away from the car and never come back.
Thanks; unfortunately, that scratch was on the film itself. I'm hoping that I can take a similar picture again, before I leave. I have a better camera now, too, so that should help nicely. I hope, anyway.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
